Congratulations to ALL SkillsUSA members who participated in the SkillsUSA Region Leadership and Skills Championships January 28, 2012 at Delta College. VCHS SkillsUSA members won 21 Gold and 3 Silver Medals, in addition we had two students elected as Region Officers Noah Saenz and Eric Fuentez. All of this member are elegible to attend the State Conference in San Diego April 12-15.

CONGRATULATIONS LIONS ON YOUR 780 API!!

 The VCHS students did an amazing job on their CST testing last year and helped our school jump 11 API points in one year.  Our API for 2010 was 769 and our new 2011 API is 780!  Congratulations Lions on your achievement and effort.  Keep up the good work!!

About Our School

  • We are a Public Early College charter high school that is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC).
  • Rigorous College Preparatory classes offered in each of our three different and unique academic programs; Early College, Classroom Based and Independent Learning Program.
  • Honors level courses embeded in the Early College program curriculum.
  • Students have the opportunity to meet the a-g requirements to transfer from VCHS straight to a 4-year college or MJC.
  • Similar Schools ranking 8 out of 10 by California Department of Education of all high schools in the state that are similar in size and demographics. 
  • Highest 10th Grade pass rate (96%) in Stanislaus County (County 78%, MCS 79%) on English portion of the 2009 CAHSEE.
  • Met all components of the federal AYP (Annual Yearly Progress) requirements.
  • As part of the Bill & Melinda Gates Early College Initiative and a partner with Modesto Junior College, our Early College students may take tuition-free college courses for university transfer and/or in career-technical programs, and can earn up to 60 college units by the time they graduate from our school.
  • College units also count toward our high school graduation requirements.
  • VCHS students have a high college success rate in their MJC classes. 
  • Teachers are dedicated and take a sincere interest in the success of their students, creating a motivated and committed learning environment.
  • Certified charter school by the California Charter School Association.
  • Offering challenging college prep. academics in both classroom-based and independent study instruction, including an option of Technology ROP classes.
